Hundreds of thousands of cats have freely roamed the metropolis of Istanbul for thousands of years. This is the story of seven of them.

The cats of Istanbul are granted freedom and respect as they wander in and out of people’s lives, an essential part of the city’s vibrant everyday life. Claiming no owners, they live between worlds, and impact people the way only animals that live between the wild and the tamed can. Cats and their kittens bring joy and purpose to those that they choose to adopt, giving humans the chance to reflect on their lives and acting as mirrors of the people in Istanbul in unique and touching ways.

A beautiful observational documentary from filmmaker Ceyda Torun, KEDI is an enlightening and heart-warming examination of one our oldest animal companions, and the ways they enrich our lives.
