Last Flag Flying
When he receives the horrible news that his Marine son has been killed during the early days of the Iraq War, Doc (Steve Carell) reaches out to his old soldiering comrades to join him at the funeral. Sal (Bryan Cranston) is the foul-mouthed owner of a dive bar who has never stopped living wild, while Richard (Laurence Fishburne) has left his hellraising past behind to become a well-respected man of the Lord.
When Doc impulsively decides that he doesn’t want his son to be interred at Arlington, the three men take the casket and embark on a bittersweet journey up the coast to New Hampshire. Reminiscing about their shared experiences in the war and coming to terms with events and deeds they have long buried in memory, the old soldiers re-evaluate how their lives were shaped, defined and still remain subject to the shadow of war.
