Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Thomas Anderson reunite a decade after their Oscar-winning triumph There Will Be Blood for an altogether different tale of a similarly driven man.
Set in 1950's London, Reynolds Woodcock (Day-Lewis) is a renowned dressmaker whose fastidious life is disrupted by a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vicky Krieps), who becomes his muse. But Alma proves to be a woman who refuses to slip neatly into the role of muse and ingenue, and has her own ideas about how this relationship should play out. Once controlled and planned, Woodcock's tailored life becomes disarrayed by love, much to the concern of his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville).
