Go on a ride with Jim Jarmusch in PATERSON, the director’s latest gentle meditation on art, relationships, poetry, and how life is lived in the small details.

Paterson (Adam Driver) lives in the town of Paterson, New Jersey with his wife Laura (Golshifteh Farahani) and their cantankerous bulldog Marvin. Paterson is a driver for the local public bus service and adheres to a simple daily routine of observing the city while driving and overhearing snippets of conversation from his passengers, writing poetry in a notebook while on break, taking Marvin for a walk to the local bar, and coming home to Laura, whom he adores. Laura in comparison is a constantly changing whirlwind of artistic inspiration, with new ideas and dreams coming to her almost daily. Observing a week of Paterson and Laura’s life together, the film is a quietly joyful account of the triumphs and setbacks of ordinary life, and how routine has poetry embedded in even its most mundane moments.
