Based on the novel of the same name by Emma Jane Unsworth, ANIMALS is director Sophie Hyde’s second feature, and is an homage to female friendship, growing up, and the beauty in sometimes being a hot mess. Following two young women, Tyler and Laura, as they navigate life in Dublin as twenty-something-year-olds, the two are inseparable, causing similar chaos on their way through life and nights out. When Laura suddenly gets more serious and becomes engaged, Tyler is left in the wake – watching her friend suddenly heading down a different path and altering the fabric of their friendship.

A story for anyone who’s ever made a mess, had your friends clean it up, and found that sometimes life is carrying you along despite how still you might be standing – ANIMALS is a film about nostalgia, being young and wild, and the power of girlfriends.
