Beirut

From Oscar-nominated screenwriter Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton) comes high tension, 1980’s-set hostage thriller BEIRUT. Years after leaving his post following the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War, former US diplomat Mason Skiles (Jon Hamm) is pressured to return to the city he would rather leave in his past. Paired with a cynical CIA operative (Rosamund Pike), Skiles soon learns that not only has he been recruited to oversee the liberation of a close friend but that he is personally linked to the kidnappers. Featuring Hamm’s strongest big-screen performance yet, Gilroy’s intelligent and tightly plotted tale is directed by Brad Anderson (The Machinist).
