Breaker Upperers, The
Best friends since they discovered they were both dating the same man, Jen and Mel (Jackie van Beek and Madeleine Sami) are both so soured on love that they’ve discovered a niche use for their anti-romance talents: breaking up other couples for cash. Equipped with cynicism and no sense of shame, the women have an arsenal of relationship-ending ruses, including singing telegrams, fake pregnancies, and masquerading as phony cops. But their business is rocked when a 18 year old client (Boy’s James Rolleston) falls for Mel, and the grief-stricken victim (Celia Pacquola) of one of their break up schemes causes a crisis of conscience.
Executive produced by Taika Waititi, THE BREAKER UPPERERS is the latest excellent addition to the Kiwi comedy wave.
