In Fabric

Arcadia x Prototype Presents!

A special sneak preview that celebrates Prototype favourite Peter Strickland, the singular auteur behind the sumptuous sadomasochistic romance The Duke of Burgundy and auditory gaillohomage Berberian Sound Studio.

Director Peter Strickland (The Duke Of Burgundy) returns with a surreal, captivating horror film that weaves a heady spell of high fashion, bloodshed – and evil curses. Sheila (Marianna Jean-Baptiste) is a lonely divorcée who walks into a mysterious department store in London, in search of a new dress for a date. “Helped” by witchy saleswoman Miss Luckmoore, played by Fatma Mohamed, Sheila encounters the perfect dress: blood-red, flattering, and, unfortunately, imbued with a malevolent curse which threatens everyone who comes across it. Also starring Julian Barrett, Steve Oram and Gwendoline Christie, Strickland's film blends nightmare with fashion, seduction with dark comedy, and is a “warped vision of haunted couture”.

Channeling voyeuristic fantasies of high fashion and bloodshed, IN FABRIC is Strickland’s most twisted and brilliantly original vision yet.
