In the Fade

Nova Exclusive! Diane Kruger magnificently anchors the latest film from acclaimed German-Turkish filmmaker Fatih Akin (Head-On, The Edge of Heaven) as a woman in the depths of grief searching for justice – and if the law can’t provide it she’ll enact it by her own hand.

The marriage of Katja (Kruger) and her Turkish partner Nuri (Numan Acar) may have begun when he was behind bars, but the couple have managed to build a respectable life for themselves and their adorable young son over the years. But Katja’s life falls apart when, as she is away visiting her sister, a bomb explodes outside Nuri’s office, killing him and their child. Katya is subjected not just to her own overwhelming despair but the incompetency and tangles of law enforcement and the court system, as it is revealed the perpetrators are an unassuming young couple who harbour hateful Neo-Nazi beliefs.

Kruger was awarded the Best Actress Award at Cannes for her powerhouse performance in this compelling and resonant drama about where justice stops and revenge begins.
