Nova Exclusive!

Sara Colangelo’s Sundance-award winning adaptation of the 2014 Israeli film of the same name, THE KINDERGARTEN TEACHER tells the story of a teacher who walks a fine line between nurturing and obsession. Maggie Gyllenhaal stars as Lisa Spinelli, a kindergarten teacher who discovers a prodigal poet in five-year-old Jimmy - and, through his work, a way of impressing her own weekly writing class.

Passing off the poems as her own, Lisa finds herself tumbling down a questionable path of lies and obsession, losing sight of herself and what’s appropriate, making for an uncomfortable, tense watch.

Also featuring Gael García Bernal (THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES, COCO), THE KINDERGARTEN TEACHER is study of what happens when altruism turns into something darker, and the lengths one woman will go to escape her own mediocrity.
