Hailing from Stratford, young Lee McQueen displayed a knack for tailoring before quickly evolving into fully-fledged fashion designer in the early 1990s. Rechristened Alexander by his upper class benefactors, McQueen’s macabre but sophisticated style saw him become chief designer at Givenchy as well as a visionary editorial influence across the globe. Crafting an up close and personal glimpse of the artist’s life both on and off the catwalk through home movies, interviews with his closest friends and family, and fashion show footage, MCQUEEN leaves little doubt as to its subject’s undeniable talent, or the many demons that would come to dominant his tragically short life.
