White Crow, The

The story of the world’s greatest male ballet dancer, Nureyev, is explored in a new passion project by Ralph Fiennes. Starring Oleg Ivenko as Rudolf Nureyev and also featuring Sergei Polunin (Red Sparrow) and Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue Is The Warmest Colour), Fiennes’ film follows Nureyev’s life-altering visit to Paris in 1961, a rare journey into the West from the Soviet nation at the time.

Through Ivenko THE WHITE CROW showcases the artistry and athleticism of the famously controversial Nureyev, who became something of ballet’s first pop star. Transcendent, bold and with a restless spirit, “Rudy” is the white crow: Fiennes’ film becomes a study of Nureyev and the dancer’s confrontation of both artistic and political freedoms.
