REMEMBERING SAM NEILL. To celebrate the career of one of Australia's favourite 'adopted sons', Cinema Nova screens cult favourite IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS (1994) directed by John Carpenter (The Thing, Halloween). Initially dismissed by critics, Neill's performance has since been recognised as among the actor's best.

The third and final instalment in Carpenter's 'Apocalypse Trilogy', IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS pays tribute to the works of author H.P. Lovecraft with a supernatural tale of New York City insurance investigator John Trent (Neill); hired to investigate the disappearance of acclaimed horror author Sutton Cane (Jürgen Prochnow). Initially dismissing the job as a publicity stunt, Trent uncovers a series of clues which lead him to a destination which might be Hobb's End - a fictional township featured in Cane's stories. Assisted by a book editor who worked with the writer, Trent begins to suspect that their actions are mirroring events in Cane's new book...
