Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela (Wilde) are on thin ice. Sexually desolate and constantly at each other’s throats, they feel primed for a crack that will tear them apart entirely. But one night, unbeknownst to Joe, Angela has invited over their neighbours, Piña (Penélope Cruz) and Hawk (Edward Norton), for dinner. While their free-spirited and sexually liberated demeanour bothers Joe, Angela finds herself intrigued. But as the two couples get to know each other, what begins as an evening of small talk soon turns to the unearthing of long-tenured grievances, failed aspirations, and sexual shortcomings.
