MEET THE FILMMAKER: Sunday July 19, 4.10pm. Join the filmmakers live in-cinema for a post-screening Q&A.

A program bringing together three distinct photographic voices spanning music culture, feminist social documentary, and contemporary diaspora identity.

Tony Mott – Rock ’n’ roll photographer originally from the UK, later based in Sydney. Widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading rock photographers, with a career spanning 30+ years across magazines, newspapers, and album covers.

Ruth Maddison – Melbourne-born documentary photographer from a Russian-Jewish migrant background. Influenced by 1970s feminism and political activism, her work spans social documentary practice, hand-coloured photography, and long-term community-based projects in NSW.

Atong Atem – Narrm-based artist working across photography, textiles, and video. Her practice explores migration, postcolonial identity, and diasporic experience, with exhibitions shown internationally including Tate Modern and Fotografiska Shanghai.
