Jaws

50TH ANNIVERSARY! "You open the beaches on the 4th of July, it's like ringing a dinner bell!". "You're gonna need a bigger boat". "Smile, you son of a bitch".

Steven Spielberg's 1975 thriller set in the sleepy township of Amity stars Roy Scheider as Police Chief Brody, a husband and father faced with the prospect of a three tonne great white shark hunting off the coast in the middle of tourist season. Tasked with solving a problem that could have serious implications for Amity's residents, Brody is joined by an oceanologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a veteran fisherman (Robert Shaw) as they attempt to find and kill the monstrous fish.

Based on a bestselling novel, JAWS rewrote the rulebook for movies and cinema - creating the 'blockbuster' in the process and setting director Spielberg up to become the most successful filmmaker who ever lived. A masterclass in tension, tone and filmmaking craft, JAWS returns to the cinema screen to celebrate a legacy that still stands strong after fifty years.
