booster (n.) — someone who illicitly procures goods from a store and sells them at a discount price. In an alternate reality Oakland, California, the young, entrepreneurial Corvette (Palmer) leads The Velvet Gang; a group of boosters also comprised of her friends Sade (Ackie) and Mariah (Paige). When fashion designer Chirstie Smith (Moore) comments on the trio’s shoplifting on the news, they decide to target her upcoming line of fashion for their next heist. But what begins as a straightforward plan becomes anything but as Corvette finds herself out of her depth in both the world of fashion, and boosting.
