Girls Can't Surf

Featuring footage of trailblazers Layne Beachley, Jodie Cooper, and Frieda Zamba as well as interviews from other surfing icons, Christopher Nelius’ (Storm Surfers 3D) doco GIRLS CAN’T SURF proves more than definitively that the very opposite is true. And while we might already have known that, we haven’t been privy before to the ins and outs of the story behind the female surfing greats who fought for equality in an overwhelmingly male-dominated sport. These rebellious women tackled male counterparts, a sexist media, and fickle sponsors all determined not to take them seriously in order to gain recognition, equality - and a sport they made their own.
