Broken English

From the inventive documentarian duo Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard (20,000 Days on Earth, The Extraordinary Miss Flower) comes BROKEN ENGLISH, an intimate and ingenious exploration of rock icon Marianne Faithfull.

A posterchild of counterculture and lead artist of the British Invasion of music in the United States, Marianne Faithfull was a singular pop talent. Exploring her six-decade journey through music, fame, and reinvention, Faithfull’s final artistic work comes in the form of a genre-bending documentary, weaving reality and imagination to present a full reflection on a one-of-a-kind life.

With dramatic performances from Tilda Swinton and George MacKay, and special contributions by performers including Courtney Love, Beth Orton, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, BROKEN ENGLISH is an unconventional piece that’s as rich and compelling as it’s subject.
