Control

Director Anton Corbijn, who worked with Joy Division as a photographer, tells the story of frontman of the band Ian Curtis in CONTROL. Based on the biography written by Curtis’ widow Deborah, Corbijn’s biopic is soundtracked by Curtis’ bandmates and portrays Curtis from the 1970s: through his marriage to Deborah, the formation and career of Joy Division, and his struggles with his mental and physical health. A portrait of an enigmatic man struggling with emotional and creative burn-out, a new-wave star who couldn’t tame the demons inside himself.
