Deerskin

A man obsessed with his tasselled deerskin jacket. A new lease on life. And a fair bit of murdering. DEERSKIN defies easy explanation, but director Quentin Dupiex has created a surrealist black comedy that dances merrily along the line of absurdist film, heading straight for cult status. Jean Dujardin (The Artist) is Georges, our troubled protagonist. Denise (Adèle Haenel, Portrait Of A Lady On Fire) is a trusting bartender innocently enabling him. Convinced that his new jacket is his salvation and the fix to all his problems, Georges heads further and further into delirium as we witness both the violent undoing of a man, as well as a jacket that - be you leather wearer or not - will stay with the audience beyond the film’s end.
