MDFF By Far Kaymakchalan

By Far Kaymakchalan (Dir: Wahyu Al Mardhani and Chris C.F – 60m)
Uncovering Australia’s forgotten WWI role alongside Serbian forces, By Far Kaymakchalan follows historian Bojan Pajić’s journey to reveal the stories of 1,500 ANZAC volunteers.
Filmed in Australia, Serbia, Greece and North Macedonia over a period of eighteen months, By Far Kaymakchalan is based on historian Bojan Pajić’s discovery of one of the never told stories of Australia’s participation in World War One. Researching in Australian, Serbian, British and French archives, Bojan discovered that over 1500 Australian and New Zealand volunteer doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers, soldiers, sailors and aircrew served alongside Serbian forces during the war, even before the landings in Gallipoli supporting the Serbian resistance to Austro-Hungarian and German invasions.
