Mothering Sunday

MONTHLY MATINEE: Thursday June 2, 10.30am. Join our resident film critic, Jan Epstein, in conversation with a special guest ahead of an opening day screening of the lustful and deeply melancholic MOTHERING SUNDAY. Ticket includes morning tea, in-cinema conversation, and film screening. Tickets on sale below!'

On a warm spring day in 1924, house maid and foundling Jane Fairchild (Odessa Young) finds herself alone on Mother's Day. Her employers, Mr. and Mrs. Niven (Colin Firth and Olivia Colman), are out and she has the rare opportunity to spend time with her affluent neighbour Paul (Josh O'Connor), with whom she is entangled in an illicit affair . But events that neither can foresee will change the course of Jane's life forever.

Screenwriter Alice Birch (Normal People, Lady Macbeth) and French director Eva Husson (Bang Gang, Girls of the Sun) prove the perfect creative duo bringing rich sensuality to this heart-wrenching adaptation of Graham Swift's novel.
