Oasis Knebworth 1996

One of the greatest bands of a generation come to the big screen!

Executive produced by Liam and Noel Gallagher this feature-length documentary showcases Oasis’s era defining concerts at Knebworth Park. Directed by Jake Scott, the film pulls from the archives to show a real-time document of the concert billed as the largest of the 1990s, via footage of the show, the fans, and backstage antics.

On 10th & 11th August 1996, after 2.5m people applied for tickets, 250,000 music fans converged on Knebworth Park, Hertfordshire, over two days to see Oasis play two record breaking shows. Seen by many as the peak of both Oasis’s career and the wider Britpop scene, the concerts were both the pinnacle of the band’s success and the landmark gathering for a generation. Featuring a setlist packed with stone cold classics, including Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger.

The Prodigy, the Chemical Brothers, Manic Street Preachers, the Charlatans, Cast and Kula Shaker also performed.

The landmark concerts were “the Woodstock of the ’90s,” says Liam Gallagher. “I can’t remember much about it, but I’ll never forget it.”
