A tender and intimate, yet brutal and dangerous exploration of love and war, this heartbreaking story follows a university theatre group in WWII Shanghai who begin to plot against the Imperial Japanese Army, who hold occupation of their city. After a rousing performance in their newest patriotic play, Wong Chia Chi (Tang) is tasked with seducing and eliminating Mr. Yee (Leung) a high-ranking agent and recruiter working for the government. But as Chia Chi gets closer to completing her mission, she finds herself falling in love with the man she is assigned to kill.
