Wheelchair/Limited Mobility Access
Cinema Nova is a wheelchair accessible venue. Cinemas 4 & 5 are on the Ground Floor next to the kiosks and Box Office, accessible via the Lygon Street entry, and the remainder of the cinemas (1-3*, 6-16), the Candy Bar and Nova Bar are on Level 1, which can be accessed via lift. Unfortunately, the Nova Bar is not wheelchair accessible but all items available within the Nova Bar can be purchased from the adjacent Candy Bar.
ONLINE BOOKINGS AND COMPANION SEATING: Online bookings for customers requiring the use of a wheelchair space can be made by selecting the blue and white wheelchair seats shown on the cinema seating plan. Wheelchair users accompanied by a companion do not need to book a second seat for their companion as complimentary [free] tickets are not available online. Upon arriving at the venue, a companion will be asked to present their Companion Card/documentation to a staff member at the box office to receive a complimentary [free] seat adjacent to the wheelchair using guest. Companion seats adjacent to wheelchair spaces cannot be booked online and will be available to Companions where a wheelchair space has been booked online prior to visiting the venue.
Access to Level 1 Entry (Cinema Nova Foyer and Cinemas 1-3, 6-16)
The rear door is located opposite the Banco offices near the stairs. Press the green buzzer upon arrival and our team will allow you entry.
- CAR PARK: There are two lifts in the Lygon Court car park, accessible via Drummond St.
- LOWER GROUND FLOOR: There is a lift located outside Woolworths (accessible from Drummond St) opposite the travellator.
- GROUND FLOOR: There is a lift located opposite the pharmacy (accessible from Lygon St) adjacent to the travellator.
Access to Ground Floor Entry (Cinemas 4 & 5)
The door is located behind the kiosks and Box Office next to Country Road. Accessible from the Lygon St entrance (or Drummond St entrance via lift).
Press the buzzer upon arrival and our team will allow you entry.
* Cinema 3 requires the use of a motorized chair lift for access, rated to carry 220kg (combined weight). Should you wish to query which sessions are in cinema 3, please contact us on 9021 7760 (extension 3). Alternately, click on the session of your choice on a film's information page and proceed to the online booking screen. The cinema number for the session can be seen on the left side of the screen under the film's title and session time & date.
Assistive Listening
All cinemas (excluding 16) are fitted with the loop receiver device, which is suitable for people with hearing aids (with a T switch).
