Antoinette in the Cevennes

An official Cannes selection, writer/director Caroline Vignal’s mischievous comedy ANTOINETTE IN THE CÉVENNES stars Laure Calamy as a 40-something primary school teacher who finds herself on an unexpected journey of self-discovery. Antoinette (Calamy) has been anticipating a long-planned weekend escape with her (married) lover Vladimir (Benjamin Lavernhe), who is the father of one of her students. However, a spanner in the works arrives in the form of Vladimir’s wife booking a surprise hiking trip in the Cévennes: a trip which Antoinette decides to take part in too…and the result is a hilarious yet poignant mid-life coming-of-age tale, starring a scene-stealing donkey called Patrick.
