Boléro

Anne Fontaine’s (The Innocents) BOLÉRO is a powerful story about the creation of an orchestral masterpiece; one that would come to define music within ballet.

Starring an incredibly committed Raphaël Personnaz (Anna Karenina) and Jeanne Balibar (Cold War), BOLÉRO is set amongst the backdrop of Paris, 1928, when choreographer Ida Rubinstein (Balibar) commissions Maurice Ravel (Personnaz) to compose the music for her next ballet. Despite facing a crisis of inspiration, the composer looks inwards and revisits his life in order to dedicate himself to creating a universal masterpiece: Bolero.
