Cousins

Mata, Missy and Makareta are three cousins, separated by circumstances yet bound together by blood. Orphaned Mata believes she has no family, living a lonely life in fear. Educated Makareta flees an arranged marriage with plans to search for her missing cousin - leaving behind the dutiful Missy. As the years pass, loss of their family's land seems imminent and the women’s promise to bring their stolen cousin home seems more unlikely than ever, until a chance encounter changes everything.

A hit in New Zealand, Ainsley Gardiner and Briar Grace Smith direct Rachel House, Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne and Ana Scotney in a moving drama of the powerful bond between family members despite the tyranny of time and distance.
