Esther (Nathalie Baye, Catch Me If You Can) is at the end of her career as Head Seamstress at the Dior Avenue Montaigne workshop. When her handbag is stolen in the Paris metro by a petty criminal, Jade (Lyna Khoudri), instead of calling the police she instead elects to give her new skills. Seeing the opportunity to pass along the intricate craft of dressmaking, Esther and Jade begin a prickly but mutually respectful friendship. In the frenetic world of Haute Couture, Esther will give Jade "la beauté du geste" - a way to reach beyond herself.
