An up-close and personal documentary of Simone Young, world-class music conductor hailing from Manly beach, Sydney. Filmed over a 20 year period, KNOWING THE SCORE is part feminist story (Simone is an outlier in the male-dominated, conservative world of classical music), and part biography of an incredible musical career spanning more than 30 years. Rounding out the story is Simone’s appointment in 2022 as Chief Conductor of The Sydney Symphony Orchestra - the first in the company’s 90 year history.
