Shrek and Shrek 2

DOUBLE FEATURE! Return to a land Far Far Away.

SHREK is one of the most iconic animated films of the 2000s, screening in competition at 2001 Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Palme d’Or, as well as being the first ever film to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Mike Meyers voices the titular hero, an ogre who enjoys the peace and serenity of his swap. But when the obsessive ruler Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) banishes fairytale creatures from their homes, they all take refuge around Shrek’s once-quiet shack. With the help of Donkey (Eddie Murphy), he makes a deal with Farquaad to regain control of his swamp: rescue Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) from a tower guarded by a fire-breathing dragon.

SHREK 2 picks up after the first film, with Shrek (Meyers) and Fiona (Diaz) now together, and setting off to meet her parents with Donkey (Murphy) in tow. Standing in the way of love is the Fairy Godmother (Jennifer Saunders), who wants to destroy the ogres’ marriage and have Fiona marry her son, Prince Charming (Rupert Everett). To foil her plans, Shrek and Donkey must team up with Puss in Boots (Antiono Banderas), a sword wielding cat, and fight for what’s right.
