Ace in the Hole

75TH ANNIVERSARY! Kirk Douglas leads Billy Wilder’s satire ACE IN THE HOLE, a prescient takedown of news culture and our obsession with media frenzies.

Chuck Tatum (Douglas) is an apathetic, amoral reporter working for a local newspaper, looking to rekindle his once lively career. Now residing in dead-end Albuquerque, he eventually stumbles upon the scoop of a lifetime, finding out that a local man has become trapped in a cave. Taking advantage of the situation, Tatum begins to exploit the story and creates a media circus around the rescue, leading to adverse results.
