In a world where almost everything is already gone, Keith and Becca still have each other. Then even that is taken away.

BLOODLUST follows the couple as they drift through the decaying remains of a post-apocalyptic Australia, surviving from day to day with little more than each other for company. When a chance encounter with four other survivors turns brutally violent, Becca is murdered, Keith is left for dead and the few possessions they carried with them are taken.

Six months later, Keith has tracked down the men responsible and there's very little left of the man they encountered on the road. Silent, cold and consumed by revenge, he sets about settling the score through an increasingly vicious cycle of violence in which the distinction between victim and monster becomes harder to see.

The feature debut of young Australian filmmakers Matt Michalik and Rupert Evans, BLOODLUST began life as a ten-minute action short made while the pair were still at university before expanding into a 70-minute feature shot over four months with a crew of just four people. Michalik and Evans wrote, directed, shot and edited the film themselves - and even turn up in front of the camera - creating a stripped-back, impressively physical piece of independent Australian filmmaking that punches considerably above its weight.

Fresh from its World Premiere at London's Raindance Film Festival, BLOODLUST is lean, mean and soaked in brutality - a fine addition to the canon of Australian revenge cinema.
