Written and directed by Alessandro Aronadio (Ears, Still Time) and based on a true story chronicled in Serenella Antonazzi’s book Un tempo piccolo, FOR YOU is a moving drama about a father and son which celebrates the power of love that transcends time and memory.

Every day, eleven-year-old Mattia (remarkable newcomer Javier Francesco Leoni) experiences the illness of his father Paolo (Edoardo Leo, Somebody to Love IFF25), who, in his early forties, is slowly beginning to lose fragments of his memory.

Yet, even as the world starts to fade, Paolo chooses to remain close to what truly matters, strengthened by the love of his wife, Michela (Teresa Saponangelo, also in The Greater Good) and Mattia. Together they embark on a journey defined by moments of shared daily life, joyous laughter, and silences that speak volumes, as they create new memories to cherish.

In 2021, Mattia Piccoli was named a Flag-bearer of the Republic by President Sergio Mattarella in recognition of the dedication with which he cared for his father.
