Dry Leaf

Alexandre Koberidze (What Do We See When We Look At The Sky?), returns with DRY LEAF, a profound, unique Georgian drama shot entirely on a 2008-model Sony Ericsson W595 mobile phone.

When his daughter Lisa, a sports photographer documenting rural soccer fields across Georgia, disappears, Irakli (David Koberidze) sets out to find her. Travelling with her enigmatic friend Levani (Otar Nijaradze), the pair move through rural village backroads as they engage with the hazy countryside of smudged wildflowers and vistas rendered as pixelated senses of memory.

Highly ambitious in both form and narrative, Koberidze’s latest feature is a touching, contemplative, and daring endeavour that’s simultaneously melancholic and full of whimsy.
