Blue Sunshine

Written and directed by Jeff Lieberman (Squirm), BLUE SUNSHINE is the creepy psychological horror from 1977 that preyed upon the jackknife political contrasts between the 'Flower Power' generation of the 1960s and the self interest and materialism of the 'Me Generation' in the 1970s. Achieving cult status in the decades since, it's disquieting premise and unhinged visuals make it a must-see for cinephiles.
A bizarre series of murders take place in Los Angeles, perpetrated by seemingly normal people who start going bald before becoming homicidal maniacs. After Jerry Zipkin (Zalman King) is attacked by by a friend before being accused of a murder he didn't commit, he takes the investigation into his own hands to prove his innocence. Discovering that his attacker was a part of a group who took a form of LSD called Blue Sunshine ten years before, Jerry attempts to find a connection between the killings and the drug. .
