ESPRESSO CINEMA PRESENTS – THE STORY OF FRANK AND NINA

Winner of the Venice Film Festival’s Magic Lantern Award, The Story of Frank and Nina is a vibrant and dynamic fable of three young people on the cusp of adulthood in the tough world of contemporary Milan.

Ludovica Nasti from the hit series My Brilliant Friend plays Nina, a young mother trapped by her marriage. A chance encounter with the film’s hilarious and mute narrator Gollum (Gabriele Monti), sees her meet the rebel genius Frank (Samuele Teneggi), who sells homework for a living. Seizing education as the key to freedom, she takes Frank on as a teacher to help her graduate.

With a stylish use of colour to convey the hope, joy and energy of the trio, The Story of Frank and Nina is a heartwarming, colourful and cinematic ode to director Paola Randi’s home city, and features breakthrough, tour-de-force performances that herald a bright future for Italian cinema.
