After the Wedding
Michelle Williams, Julianne Moore and Billy Crudup lead in Bart Freundlich’s (Wolves, Trust The Man) remake of the Danish film of the same name – freshening things up by gender flipping the action, allowing ample room for both Moore and Williams to shine. Isabel (Williams) is an American woman running an orphanage in India, struggling to make ends meet when she’s invited to New York to meet Teresa (Moore) – a megarich publisher who wants to donate millions to the orphanage.
Things seem almost too good to be true – until Teresa invites Isabel to her daughter’s wedding, and Isabel realises she knows the other woman’s husband, Oliver (Crudup) – and knows him well. Full of intrigue, plot twists, and strong casting, AFTER THE WEDDING is a windy, “hold your breath” ride indeed.
