In 1897, Eggs (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), an orphan, lives with a community of quirky, mischievous, but harmless creatures known as the Boxtrolls, who inhabit a cavern beneath the city of Cheesebridge. But when ruthless pest exterminator Archibald Snatcher (Kingsley) hatches a plan to rid the town of the harmless Boxtrolls, Eggs, with the help of Winnifred (Fanning), the mayor’s daughter, devise a daring plan to save the Boxtrolls from extermination.
