Led by a radiant Carmen Maura (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown), CALLE MÁLAGA is the latest film from Maryam Touzani (The Blue Caftan).
Born in Tangier, a now 79-year-old Maria Anegeles (Maura) lives on her own in an apartment she’s owned all her life, enjoying the routine and freedom of her day-to-day existence. But when her daughter Clara (Marta Etura) returns home after a year in need of money, she informs Maria that she plans on selling the apartment and moving her to Madrid. Determined to stay, Maria does everything she can to keep her home and reclaim the belongings she’s gotten throughout her life, rediscovering love and desire along the way.
