Charles (Key), an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island in Wales, dreams of getting his favourite musicians, McGwyer Mortimer back together. In a creative crisis and fiscally thin, Herb McGwyer (Basden), one half of the folk duo, accepts Charles’ invitation to play a private gig on his property. McGwyer soon learns that his former bandmate and lover Nell Mortimer (Mulligan) is also joining them, and as the pair rehearse for Charles’ dream show, old tensions and connections resurface.
