THE BOY AND THE HERON: Academy Award winning director Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke) returned to film with his first feature in ten years, which netted him his second Oscar win. THE WIND RISES: Portraying a fictionalised account of the life Japanese aeronautical engineer Jiro Horikoshi, Miyazaki's gorgeous period-set animation is a slice of like look at an innovative and accomplished airplane designer. Nearsighted from a young age and unable to be a pilot, Jiro joins a major Japanese engineering company in 1927, and during his time there designs a great many aircrafts, which ultimately get used the Japanese Empire in WWII.
