Sidonie In Japan

Isabelle Huppert (The Piano Teacher) stars in a Japan-set romance from director Élise Girard.

While on a book tour in Japan, Sidonie Perceval (Huppert), still haunted by the ghost of her late husband, begins an affair with her mysterious Japanese publisher. What unfolds is an optimistic tale of discovering a newfound purpose at an older age, that takes stylistic cues from Japanese master Yasujirō Ozu.

After premiering at last year’s Venice Film Festival, the Hollywood Reporter called SIDONIE IN JAPAN “a quietly touching tale of grief and ghosts.”

French and Japanese language, English subtitles.
