Celebrated German filmmaker Andreas Dresen (Cloud 9) directs a stirring biographical drama that was nominated for the Golden Bear at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.

In the summer of Berlin 1942, Hilde falls madly in love with Hans and becomes joyfully pregnant. But amid the passion there is grave danger. Hans becomes involved in the anti-Nazi resistance, with a group of young people who will later be called the “Red Orchestra”. Despite the huge risks, Hilde decides to get involved herself but is arrested and imprisoned by the Gestapo, eight months pregnant.
