Based on a true story. Fahrije's husband has been missing since the war in Kosovo. She sets up her own small business to provide for her kids, but as she fights against a patriarchal society that does not support her, she faces a crucial decision.

Making its debut at Sundance 2021, HIVE was awarded three major awards in the World Cinema Dramatic category, with Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale, Mad Men) jumping on as executive producer. It is Kosovo's first entry to be shortlisted for Best International Feature at the Academy Awards.

HIVE is director Blerta Basholli’s debut feature, cementing her unique and realistic visual style and her strong focus on social and gender issues in her home country of Kosovo.
