Sound of Falling
Mascha Schilinski’s Cannes Jury Prize-winner SOUND OF FALLING is a beautifully woven tale of memory and girlhood, told across four generations of the same family.
At different times throughout recent history, Alma (Hanna Heckt), Erika (Lea Drinda), Angelika (Lena Urzendowsky), and Lenka (Laeni Geiseler) each spend a part of their childhood on the same farm in northern Germany. Witness to the ever-changing world around it, the farmhouse has seen both global and intimately personal changes, surviving two world wars and a divided Germany. But within it's immortal walls, each of the four girls experience their own versions of childhood; friendships, pranks, and a deep trauma that links them all.
