Son of the South

Directed by Barry Alexander Brown, Spike Lee’s oft-editor, and executive produced by Lee himself, SON OF THE SOUTH tells of the true story of Bob Zellner, grandson of a Klansman who chose to defy his family and white Southern norms in his fight against social injustice.
Set during the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s, Zellner (Lucas Till) is forced to confront the racism endemic in his life as well as which side of history he wants to be on. Based on Zellner’s own autobiography “The Wrong Side Of Murder Creek”, SON OF THE SOUTH is a vivid and absorbing look at a chapter of US history which will forever be relevant.
