Hortense (Isabelle Carré) has a big heart and no one to share it with except her embittered mother (Geneviève Mnich) and the people for whom she prepares a gourmet dinner at the local church. Meeting vintner Jacques (Bernard Campan) at a chaotic wine tasting, Hortense senses a connection between them. A friendship develops into something more, the past begins to catch up and secrets are revealled that each of them would have hoped to have kept private. THE TASTING is directed by Ivan Calbérac and is based on the popular stage play La dégustation.
