Call to Spy, A

London, 1941. The dawn of World War II, and Britain is becoming desperate. Churchill orders his new spy agency to do something unprecedented – recruit and train women as spies, to carry out sabotage missions. Our heroines: “spymistress” Vera Atkins (Stana Katic), and her recruits Virginia Hall (Sarah Megan Thomas), an American journalist, and Noor Inayat Khan (Radhika Atpe), a wireless operator of Indian descent, who all work together to undermine the Nazi regime in France. Based on real stories and directed by Lydia Dean Pilcher (Queen of Katwe), A CALL TO SPY is a tribute to three women who truly deserve to be the focus of a war film, and sings of brave icons unsung until now.
